Shepard School Road Sidewalk Improvements Projects  


Fred Smith Company has begun making bridge improvements and sidewalk,storm drain, and curb and gutter from the Staff has submitted for an additional grant to complete the southern portion of the project (from bridge to Zebulon Middle School) in the next fiscal year.  The full project should be constructed by late Spring 2016. bridge to the Boys and Girls Club.  Notice to proceed was issued for November 17, 2014 with a contract period of 90 days. The construction contract amount is $324,610. Please use caution when driving through the work zone and expect one-lane traffic during the day.

 

 

 

 

Town of Zebulon Greenway Master Plan           

 

The design contract for the Greenway Master Plan was awarded to obs landscape architects and AMT Consulting Engineers design team.  The design process is expected to be completed by July 30, 2015.  Our goal is to produce a community-based plan through public participation in the planning process.  An Open House will be held on January 13, 2015 in the lobby at Town Hall.  Residents can drop by from 7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. or from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. to discuss options, view maps, and speak with the design team.  Other public meetings will be scheduled in 2015.

Yates Place Stormwater Phase I Improvements
Improvements to the storm drainage system to Yates Place cul-de-sac are included in the FY2015 budget. The planned improvements are:

  • Add two new catch basins in the cul-de-sac
  • Upgrade the 24" RCP to a 36" RCP pipe
  • Install a level spreader at discharge point

These improvements will eliminate flooding n the cul-de-sac. Project design will begin mid-July. Construction bids are planned for mid-March 2015 with construction starting in June 2015.  This project should be completed by September 2015.
