TOWN OF ZEBULON CHANGING RECYCLING CARTS AND SERVICE

The Town of Zebulon will change from weekly recycling collection to bi-weekly recycling collection beginning August 5, 2013. Recycling carts will be emptied as usual on Monday and Tuesday, August 5 and 6. Within 24 hours, the emptied carts will be switched from 48-gallon carts to 96-gallon carts. Please leave your smaller cart at the right-of-way until it is switched for the larger cart. Following the switch of carts, the next collection of recycling will be on Monday and Tuesday, August 19 and 20.

By using larger carts, recycling can be collected every other week instead of weekly. The change to bi-weekly collection allows the Town to lower its cost for recycling and maintain services at the current rate to residents.

A calendar and map are available to assist with tracking the recycling collection dates. Printed copies may be obtained at Town Hall, 1003 N. Arendell Avenue, or Public Works, 450 E. Horton Street. Included on the calendar are dates highlighted in orange to mark bulky waste collection days.

Solid waste will continue to be collected weekly, as indicated on the calendar. If you have any questions regarding solid waste and/or recycling collection, please contact Zebulon Public Works at 919-269-5285.
