Due to the impending winter storm, Wake County has issued a Proclamation of a State of Emergency to support preparedness and response efforts. The Town of Zebulon is included in the Wake County State of Emergency by request of its governing body, as provided for in the proclamation, allowing for coordinated emergency response efforts, resource sharing, and implementation of applicable emergency measures. Town departments and partner agencies are coordinating resources and preparing for potential impacts, including hazardous road conditions, power outages, and other winter weather concerns. Public safety and public works teams are staged and ready to respond as conditions change. The safety of residents remains the Town’s top priority. Community members are encouraged to limit travel when possible, especially during periods of ice and freezing conditions, to allow emergency and utility crews to operate safely. Residents should avoid downed power lines and remain alert for localized flooding as snow and ice melt. If your power goes out, please contact your electric service provider to report the outage. The Zebulon Board of Commissioners adopted the Gill Street Park Master Plan, a community-driven vision to expand recreation and improve park amenities near Zebulon Middle School and East Wake Academy. What’s included: ~ Expanded Park space on town-owned land ~ Inclusive playground and open space ~ Walking trails and natural areas multi-sport court and skate park features ~ Future community facility, restrooms, and parking ~ School connectivity What happens next: ~ The Town will begin the design process. ~ Staff will pursue grant funding and partnerships. ~ Improvements will be built in phases as funding becomes available. Join us for a special afternoon of music, unity, and community as we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. Presented in partnership with the MLK Community Zebulon Chapter Workshop Choir, this Celebration Musical will feature powerful voices from Wake and Johnston counties coming together for an uplifting tribute through song.
