Performs building and ground maintenance functions; equipment maintenance; yardwaste, leaves, bulky waste and snow removal; cleaning storm drainage devices; sidewalk repairs; signage and ditch maintenance; and asphalt patching.
Must obtain Class B, CDL license within six months of employment. Work involves considerable light to heavy physical activities for extended periods of time and exposure to inclement weather. Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly.

Deputy Town Clerk/HR Technician
Seeking a dependable person to work full-time (M-F—8-5). Minimum qualifications include working knowledge of MS office software and basic office equipment required. Excellent oral, written and organizational skills and the ability to hear and process the spoken word at normal levels. This position will perform a variety of administrative and HR tasks including, but not limited to general office duties, preparing for meetings including setting up 8' tables and moving chairs, updating Town website and social media sites, scheduling meeting spaces, various HR duties, research as needed and upkeep of permanent records.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associates Degree in Business, HR or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hiring range is $39,197-$41,000. The Town of Zebulon Fire Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Firefighter I. This full-time position will normally work a rotating 24-hour shift, which includes day, night, and weekend work.
This position provides rapid fire-suppression response to protect life and property by controlling and extinguishing fires. Employees also maintain firefighting equipment; provide training to the general public on fire prevention awareness and first aid; respond to medical emergencies and after-effects of hazardous weather. This position requires the employee to perform multifunctional roles and encompasses the many responsibilities required on an emergency scene, as well as the daily tasks of maintaining a fire station and the affiliated equipment. Code Enforcement/Permitting Officer
Primarily responsible for processing building permit applications, interacting with building inspectors to coordinate plan review, permit issuance and certificates of occupancy. Acts as a resource to the general public in all planning, permitting, and code enforcement related matters. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of an associates degree and supplemented by major course work in urban planning, geography, public administration, landscape architecture, computer sciences or a related field.

PR Recreation Program Coordinator
This position will create, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate diverse recreational programs, community events, and special events. Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning and administering Town of Zebulon Wellness Program; maintaining program data; budgeting; seeking out and applying for grant funding; developing and maintaining working partnerships with groups, stake holders, and other jurisdictions. The applicant should have knowledge of diverse recreational programming, current recreational trends, and the role public recreation programming plays in community development and marketing skills in social media and other media outlets.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Parks Management or related field and two years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience.
