FIREFIGHTER I – The Town of Zebulon Fire Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Firefighter I. This full-time position will normally work a rotating 24-hour shift, which includes day, night, and weekend work. This position provides rapid fire-suppression response to protect life and property by controlling and extinguishing fires. Employees provide training to the public on fire prevention awareness and first aid; respond to medical emergencies and after-effects of hazardous weather. Requires the employee to perform multifunctional roles and encompasses the many responsibilities required on an emergency scene, as well as the daily tasks of maintaining a fire station and the affiliated equipment. Work performed under regular supervision on an assigned shift. This position may be required to attend scheduled departmental training classes and meetings not part of their normal schedule. Starting Pay $36,370.
