PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR: The Town of Zebulon is looking for their next Visionary Leader to serve as the Parks and Recreation Director. The department will play a major role in meeting the community’s strategic goals and ensuring new initiatives are implemented through innovative programming, funding, and creative partnerships.
Zebulon Parks and Recreation Department and Position Overview: The Town of Zebulon Parks and Recreation Department is one of seven (7) departments. The Director participates as a member of the leadership team. It has four (4) full-time staff that report to the director and up to 28 part-time employees with an operating budget of approximately $770,000. Parks & Recreation coordinates, oversees and manages six parks, the Farm Fresh Market, a Championship Disc Golf course, as well as various community events.
Qualifications: The candidate’s work history must include well rounded experience across parks and recreation divisions with five (5) or more years of successful and progressive levels of responsibility, culminating with supervisory responsibility. Municipal parks and recreation experience and a bachelor’s degree are required while a relevant master’s degree and CPRP certification (or ability to obtain) are highly preferred.
The hiring range is $62,206 – 93,311. Compensation is negotiable based upon experience and qualifications.
