Little River Nature Programs with Sylvan Heights Bird Park 

Join us this fall on the second Saturday of the month for our family nature program series! Designed for families with elementary age children, each program will explore a different topic through guided walks, activities, and games.  Join us Free at 10 AM.

  • Reptiles of Eastern North Carolina- September 14th

Learn all about our scaly and slithering neighbors in this program all about reptiles

  • Birds in Your Backyard- October 12th

Discover the world of birds as we learn to use binoculars and how to identify common North Carolina bird species!

  •  Habitats of Little River Park- November 9th

Explore the unique habitats of Little River Park and learn how you can create wildlife habitat in your own backyard!

14-18 Year Old Open Gym

Wednesday's from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. Cost is $1.00 per person. SPACE IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 15 PLAYERS TO SIGN UP AND PAY EACH WEEK.


Join Hanshi, Charles Mann, a 9th degree Black Belt for our very popular Karate program. Charles has been the instructor for this traditional Okinawan Karate for over 30 years. This particular style of karate teaches students of all ages the techniques of Kobubo/Weapon and tournament style fighting. Parents and children are welcome to take this class together. Classes are offered year round on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:00pm at the Zebulon Community Center. Cost is $40/month for residents and $50/non-residents. 

FREE Teen Sewing Class (Age 11-14)

Beginner/introductory class. Participants will make a day pack/tote bag.

Preschoolers will learn the basics of gymnastics and tumbling. Limited Space!!

Crafty Science New Year Countdown (Age K-12)

Celebrate the New Year with a mashup of crafts and science. It all ends with a special countdown as we toast the year of 2019.
