ZEBULON, N.C. (April 13, 2026) — Early this morning, Monday, April 13, at approximately 3:07 a.m., the Zebulon Police Department and Zebulon Fire Department responded to a crash in the 400 block of W. Franklin Street after a vehicle struck a home, resulting in a house fire.

Zebulon Police officers were in the area canvassing when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A short time later, officers located the vehicle after it had crashed into the residence. Officers responded and assisted with removing occupants from the home.

Fire crews worked to contain and extinguish the fire. Five individuals were inside the home at the time and were able to exit. No injuries were reported. Two family cats were also removed from the home.

Preliminary information indicates the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Raleigh.

A person of interest was taken into custody by the Zebulon Police Department in connection with this incident and transported to the Wake County Detention Center for processing.

The individual has been identified as Cartier Nasir Farmer, 19, of Zebulon. He is currently being held on a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Charges may follow after a complete investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
