Today, the Coastal Plain League officially revealed the name of its newest team, set to begin play in 2026. The Town of Zebulon was proud to host the joint press conference marking this exciting moment for our community.

Today, Town staff gathered to wish Interim Town Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba a heartfelt farewell and to say thank you for his leadership, guidance, and dedication to the Town of Zebulon. We truly appreciate all that you have done for our staff and community.
At the same time, we were excited to welcome Catherine “Katy” Crosby, who officially started today as our new Town Manager. We look forward to this next chapter and continuing to move Zebulon forward together.

Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-71(b)(1), notice is hereby given that the undersigned has called a Special Meeting of the Zebulon Board of Commissioners to participate in the Essentials of Municipal Government course, which is being provided by the UNC School of Government. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct training on the following topics:
• The fundamentals of municipal government law, authority, and practice
• The core functions, structure, and purpose of municipal government
• The role of the elected body and your role as one of its members
• The legal and ethical duties of elected officials and staff
• The exemplary habits of a high-performing governing board, which include building positive relationships with staff and external partners who influence life in your communities
This training is scheduled for the following dates and times:
Feb 12, 7:30am to 6pm
Feb 13, 7:30am to 4:15pm
The training will be held at the Rocky Mount Event Center, located at 285 NE Main Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. This notice is being provided because a majority of the Board of Commissioners are registered to attend the training. The Board of Commissioners is not expected to achieve a quorum, nor are they expecting to act on any topic. This is not a Town of Zebulon sponsored or facilitated event, and the Board of Commissioners does not control who has access to this training session.

Join us for the premiere of a new video documentary by Desi L. Campbell on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 2–4 p.m. (keynote at 3 p.m.) at the Zebulon Community Center.
The film explores the histories and lived experiences of African American communities across Eastern Wake County, with connections to Nash and Franklin counties, highlighting churches, family lineages, Rosenwald schools, and local figures who shaped the region.
Desi L. Campbell, award-winning genealogist, Zebulon native, author, and filmmaker, will be present for the screening and community discussion.
Presented with support from the Harnett County African American Heritage Center, Town of Zebulon Parks & Recreation, and the James E. Shepard School Alumni Association.
