Good morning, Zebulon. While conditions are improving, we continue to encourage residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary due to isolated areas of black ice and lingering slick spots.

❄️ Winter Weather Update | Feb. 1 – 9:00 PM ❄️

Conditions in Zebulon remain cold and clear, with temperatures expected to drop overnight. While no power outages, road closures, or injuries have been reported, refreezing and black ice are likely, especially on hills, curves, bridges, and neighborhood roads.

Public Works crews have plowed and treated roads throughout the day, and Police and Fire continue monitoring conditions and responding as needed. Town Hall and Parks & Recreation facilities will remain closed Monday, and the Board of Commissioners meeting has been postponed.

Please stay off the roads if possible and allow crews and first responders the space they need to work safely. We will continue to share updates as conditions change.

Due to winter weather conditions, the Town of Zebulon’s physical offices (Town Hall) and Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Essential services, including Public Works, Police, and Fire, will continue to operate. Employees designated as emergency personnel will continue to provide services throughout the winter weather event.

❄️ Winter Weather Update – Sunday Morning (Feb. 1) ❄️
Zebulon received approximately 4–6 inches of snow overnight. While skies are clearing, road conditions remain poor and travel is still hazardous.

Here’s the latest:
• Current temperature: 19° with wind chills as low as zero
• No reported power outages in the Zebulon area
• No road closures, but roads are still snow- and ice-covered
• Public Works crews are actively working today to plow primary and secondary roads, with salt being reapplied to bridges and overpasses
• Parks and Recreation programs are canceled today, and the Community Center and parks are closed

We strongly encourage residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary to allow crews and first responders to continue their work safely.

Due to the impending winter storm, Wake County has issued a Proclamation of a State of Emergency to support preparedness and response efforts. The Town of Zebulon is included in the Wake County State of Emergency by request of its governing body, as provided for in the proclamation, allowing for coordinated emergency response efforts, resource sharing, and implementation of applicable emergency measures. Town departments and partner agencies are coordinating resources and preparing for potential impacts, including hazardous road conditions, power outages, and other winter weather concerns. Public safety and public works teams are staged and ready to respond as conditions change. The safety of residents remains the Town’s top priority. Community members are encouraged to limit travel when possible, especially during periods of ice and freezing conditions, to allow emergency and utility crews to operate safely. Due to the expected winter weather, all Town of Zebulon parks and facilities will be closed, and all athletics, games, programs, and events are cancelled for the weekend.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from tonight, Jan. 30, through Sunday, Feb. 1. Now is the time to prepare if you haven’t already.

Town Weather Preparations

~ Brine has been applied to all Town roads.
~ Dump trucks are equipped with salt spreaders and snowplows.
~ Public Works crews will monitor conditions.
~ All Emergency Personnel are prepared and ready.
