⚠️ Traffic Advisory – West Gannon Avenue & Mack-Todd Road This morning (Thursday, Feb. 12th) march participants will be traveling through Zebulon on their way to Wendell. ➡️ The group will move along West Gannon Avenue to Mack-Todd Road (Alternate 64) while passing through town. 🚓 The North Carolina Highway Patrol will be escorting the group. The Zebulon Police Department will assist at intersections along the route to help manage traffic and ensure vehicles do not pull into the path of participants. Temporary traffic delays may occur as the group travels through the area. Roads will remain open, but motorists should expect brief slowdowns. Please use caution if traveling along West Gannon Avenue or Mack-Todd Road and watch for increased pedestrian and law enforcement activity. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure everyone’s safety.

The Town of Zebulon recently presented Jernigan's Furniture with a replica check in recognition of their participation in the Town’s Façade Improvement Grant Program. This grant program supports reinvestment in downtown Zebulon by helping business and property owners enhance the appearance of commercial buildings. Improving building facades strengthens local businesses and enhances the overall look and feel of our downtown district. The Façade Improvement Grant Program is funded annually by the Town of Zebulon and currently provides reimbursement of up to 50 percent of eligible project costs, with a maximum award of $2,500. Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160A-71(b)(1), notice is hereby given that the undersigned has called a Special Meeting of the Zebulon Board of Commissioners to participate in the Essentials of Municipal Government course, which is being provided by the UNC School of Government. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct training on the following topics:

• The fundamentals of municipal government law, authority, and practice
• The core functions, structure, and purpose of municipal government
• The role of the elected body and your role as one of its members
• The legal and ethical duties of elected officials and staff
• The exemplary habits of a high-performing governing board, which include building positive relationships with staff and external partners who influence life in your communities

This training is scheduled for the following dates and times:

Feb 12, 7:30am to 6pm

Feb 13, 7:30am to 4:15pm

The training will be held at the Rocky Mount Event Center, located at 285 NE Main Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. This notice is being provided because a majority of the Board of Commissioners are registered to attend the training. ❄️ Winter Weather Update | Feb. 1 – 9:00 PM ❄️

Conditions in Zebulon remain cold and clear, with temperatures expected to drop overnight. While no power outages, road closures, or injuries have been reported, refreezing and black ice are likely, especially on hills, curves, bridges, and neighborhood roads.

Public Works crews have plowed and treated roads throughout the day, and Police and Fire continue monitoring conditions and responding as needed. Town Hall and Parks & Recreation facilities will remain closed Monday, and the Board of Commissioners meeting has been postponed.

Please stay off the roads if possible and allow crews and first responders the space they need to work safely. We will continue to share updates as conditions change.

Due to winter weather conditions, the Town of Zebulon’s physical offices (Town Hall) and Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Essential services, including Public Works, Police, and Fire, will continue to operate. Employees designated as emergency personnel will continue to provide services throughout the winter weather event.

❄️ Winter Weather Update – Sunday Morning (Feb. 1) ❄️
Zebulon received approximately 4–6 inches of snow overnight. While skies are clearing, road conditions remain poor and travel is still hazardous.

Here’s the latest:
• Current temperature: 19° with wind chills as low as zero
• No reported power outages in the Zebulon area
• No road closures, but roads are still snow- and ice-covered
• Public Works crews are actively working today to plow primary and secondary roads, with salt being reapplied to bridges and overpasses
• Parks and Recreation programs are canceled today, and the Community Center and parks are closed

We strongly encourage residents to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary to allow crews and first responders to continue their work safely.
