The event will take place at the Wendell Community Center starting at 7 p.m., and is free and open to all.
Food trucks will be available and proceeds raised will benefit the NC Special Olympics. We hope to see y'all there.

Traffic Update: West Gannon Avenue Reopened 🚧✅ Good news, Zebulon. Following the recent utility repair related to the water main break, paving and road marking operations on West Gannon Avenue have been completed and the detour has been removed. Gannon Avenue is now back open to normal traffic. 🛣️ Thank you for your patience and understanding while crews worked to restore the area. We appreciate your cooperation. Safe travels.

With temperatures climbing, it’s important to remember our pets need help staying cool too.
A few simple ways to keep them safe:
• Keep plenty of fresh water nearby
• Try to avoid walks during the hottest part of the day
• Check the pavement before heading out because if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
• Never leave your pet in a parked car
• Give them a pet-safe frozen treat to help cool down

⚠️ Traffic Advisory Update: 6/21/26 10:25 a.m.
Thank you to the swift response from the Town of Zebulon Police Department, Fire Department, and Public Works Department for quickly responding to West Gannon Avenue and helping secure the roadway during the water main break.
We also extend our thanks to the City of Raleigh, NCDOT, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol for their quick actions and continued coordination.
West Gannon Avenue remains closed due to the water main break and resulting roadway damage. This portion of the road will remain closed until repairs can be completed.
At this time, there is no estimated timeline for reopening. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
🚘 Traffic traveling west on W Gannon Ave will take a right on Worth Hinton Rd, left on Green Pace Rd, left on Water Plant Rd to take them back to W Gannon Ave.
🚘 Traffic traveling east on W Gannon Ave will take a left on Water Plant Rd, right on Green Pace Rd, right on Worth Hinton Rd to take them back to W Gannon Ave.
Motorists should plan for alternate travel routes and use caution in the area.
Per the City of Raleigh, water service has been restored to all impacted areas. Crews continue to complete related repair work.
For City of Raleigh water customers impacted by this outage, notifications regarding water service would be communicated directly by the City of Raleigh, as they maintain and operate the water system serving Zebulon.

The Town of Zebulon participated in Wednesday's Triangle Community Coalition Breakfast at Norse Brewing Longhouse.
Planning Director Matt Lower presented on Zebulon's growth, housing demand, economic development opportunities and the Town's efforts to channel growth into high-quality places, a stronger housing mix and long-term community and economic value. He also discussed infrastructure investments, housing strategies and small area planning initiatives that will help guide future growth.
Thank you to the Triangle Community Coalition for bringing together leaders from across the region to discuss growth, housing and economic development.

☀️ Summer Meals Are Back!
Yesterday, families gathered at Wakefield Missionary Baptist Church to kick off the SUN Meals program, enjoying free meals, games, crafts, face painting, and a visit from Ray, the SUN Meals mascot.
The Zebulon Police Department’s CARE Unit was onsite sharing resources, while Zebulon Fire Department’s C Shift brought a fire engine for children to explore.
SUN Meals is a USDA summer nutrition program that provides free, healthy meals to children and teens 18 and under while school is out for the summer, helping ensure young people have access to nutritious food when school meals are unavailable.
Meals are available at Wakefield Missionary Baptist Church (809 Proctor Street) Monday through Friday from 12:00–1:00 p.m. through August 7.
