The Zebulon Police Department is in the process of working towards national accreditation status through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). As a part of the process, there is an opportunity for public feedback via the CALEA Accreditation Public Comment Portal. If you would like to share your comment with CALEA, follow this link: http://cimrs2.calea.org/1138
The purpose of this Public Comment Portal is to receive comments regarding our department’s compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accreditation status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the participating department with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
IMPORTANT: CALEA is not an investigatory body and subsequently the Public Comment Portal should not be used to submit information for such purposes. Additionally, there will be no response other than acknowledgement to submissions; however, the information will be considered in context to its relevancy to compliance with standards and the tenets of CALEA® Accreditation. Standard titles may be viewed on the CALEA website: Law Enforcement -Standards Titles | CALEA® | The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. If you have any questions related to the Zebulon Police Department’s accreditation process, inquiries can be directed to the department’s Police Planner, David Gregory at: dgregory@townofzebulon.org
Comments posted via the Public Comment Portal will be routed to the Regional Program Manager and shared back with the department CEO, as well as filed for the Compliance Service Manager and CALEA Assessors, to access and review prior to the department’s upcoming web-based and on-site based assessments.
