Solid Waste Services

Trash & Recycling Collection

The Town of Zebulon contracts with Green For Life for curbside collection of residential trash and recycling. Trash is collected every Friday, & recycling is collected every other Friday. Please place your carts at the curb on Thursday nights. Please see the 2023 Solid Waste Calendar and 2024 Solid Waste Calendar for trash, recycling, and bulk waste collection dates.

Town ordinance requires trash be bagged before being placed in the cart to prevent flyaway litter as the cart is emptied into the truck. Please do not bag recycling; the bags damage the sorting machines at the recycling facility.  Recycling should be placed loosely in the cart.

Please don't put these items in the trash cart:

Bulk Waste Collection

Bulk waste collection is for items that can go in the landfill but are too large for the trash cart. This includes furniture, mattresses, carpet, appliances, lawn mowers, & grills (remove any oil/gas). The Town of Zebulon collects bulk waste every Friday, except on holidays. Please place bulk waste at the curb on Thursday night. Appointments are not required, but we're glad to give the driver a heads-up to look for your items. Feel free to call 919-269-5285.

We can't collect any items that can't be placed in the landfill, including electronics, batteries, hazardous waste, paint, tires, and construction debris. Wake County residents may dispose of/recycle these items at no additional charge by taking them to the Wake County convenience center at 5051 Wendell Boulevard. For hours and information, visit www.wakegov.com/recycling.
