Yardwaste Collection

Public Works collects yardwaste and leaves biweekly from residential properties.  The town is divided into two zones, serviced every other week.  Yardwaste should be placed on the right-of-way behind the curb by Sunday night before the week your zone is scheduled for pick-up.   Please refer to the 2024 Yardwaste Calendar and Map to determine your collection weeks.

YardwasteNot Yardwaste
  • Twigs and limbs
  • Hedge clippings
  • Grass
  • Hay/pine straw
  • Pinecones
  • Small logs
  • Bushes
  • Animal waste
  • Trash
  • Mulch bags
  • Plastic trays
  • Building materials, fences, or poles
  • Dirt or rocks
  • Plants in pots

Yardwaste should be placed loosely behind the curb away from parked cars, trees, shrubs, mailboxes, utility boxes, and power lines.  Please do not bag yard waste.

Leaf Collection

Leaves are collected the same week as yard waste and should be placed in a separate pile behind the curb, not in the street or gutter where they can obstruct traffic or drainage.  Leaf piles must be free of sticks, rocks, pinecones, limbs, and other debris, which will break the town's vacuum equipment.  Like other yardwaste, leaf piles should be placed away from other objects.
