Chief of Police

The Town of Zebulon is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief of Police to lead a progressive and community-focused police department. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 8 years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience, including significant supervisory and leadership responsibilities. A demonstrated commitment to community policing, diversity, and collaborative leadership is essential.

Zebulon Police Department (ZPD) provides patrol services, emergency response, crime prevention, investigations, community outreach, and administrative functions. The next Police Chief will have the vision and strategic ability to guide the department through a period of growth while ensuring public safety and community trust.

Town Manager

  • Full-Time - $185,000.00 - $230,000.00 Annually

The Town Manager has authority over personnel administration, including selection, evaluation, and retention of key senior executive staff. As the Town’s executive, the Town Manager ensures that the entire community is served effectively and efficiently by providing oversight of the Administration, Finance, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Planning, Police, Public Works, Communications, Human Resources and Economic Development Departments.

The Town Manager will be a forward-thinking, proven and trustworthy leader with both a commitment to equitably serving all residents of a growing and diverse community and an openness to supporting the current vision of the Board of Commissioners. The Town Manager will also be a communicator and a visionary leader with the foresight to keep the long-term health of the Town in mind and plan accordingly.

Police Officer

Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant, a Police Officer performs a wide variety of law enforcement and community policing techniques to protect the life and property of everyone who lives, works, and visits the Town of Zebulon.

Facility Maintenance Worker

Under general supervision of the Parks Maintenance Supervisor, this position will assist parks and recreation staff with various tasks covering all aspects of park maintenance to include general landscaping, athletic fields preparation and custodial duties to ensure the overall appearance, wellbeing, and sanitation needs of Town owned parks and facilities are being met.

Note: This position will be required to work 10* weekend hours (Saturday-Sunday) and 10 weekday hours (Monday-Friday) per week.  
     * Depending on the needs of the Department it could require additional weekend hours.

Human Resource Associate (part-time position)

Under general supervision, the Human Resources (HR) Associate performs a variety of administrative, technical, and clerical duties in support of the Town of Zebulon’s human resources functions. These include recruitment, employee onboarding, records management, benefits administration, and HR compliance activities. This position serves as a key point of contact for staff and the public regarding human resources policies, procedures, and services.

PT - Recreation Aide - Athletics

Zebulon is the 2nd fastest growing community in the State of North Carolina! Currently, with a population at 11,800, and expected to reach 25,000 by 2030. With six parks, a community center, multiple public spaces, and various athletic programs having great employees in the department is very important. Our staff takes pride in making sure that everyone that comes to our parks and participates in our programs has  a clean and beautiful place to enjoy passive and active recreation. The ideas and talents of all employees are important. The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for that person who wants to join an amazing team of hard workers.

The purpose of this position is to perform routine work such as locking and unlocking facilities for athletic practices and games; acting as first point of contact for the general public while at the facility, and scorekeeping for youth and adult sports leagues and tournaments. This position may also be required to assist with other Town programs and events, as needed.

PT - Recreation Aide II

Recreation Aides assist Parks and Recreation staff with daily operations of the Zebulon Community Center, community outreach programs, athletic programs, special events and overseeing facility rentals.   Recreation Aides are responsible for providing outstanding customer service when assisting the public using various communication methods.  Staff will need to be familiar with the facility, various sports and standard operating procedures.
